Bidirectional Ethernet Connections

We’ve expanded our connection capabilities to include full support for Ethernet networking. Now you can properly map out your digital audio network infrastructure, including Dante, AVB, and other network audio protocols.

How It Works

When adding Ethernet connections to your gear, you can now specify the direction of data flow. This is particularly useful for documenting network audio devices where signal flow matters. The system automatically validates cable compatibility when connecting Ethernet ports, ensuring your network topology is properly documented.

Enhanced Drag Flexibility

Along with Ethernet support, we’ve improved the drag-and-drop behavior throughout the application. Moving equipment between racks and repositioning items on your canvas is now smoother and more intuitive. The system better recognizes your intent when dragging items, making complex studio layouts easier to create.

Connection Anchors for Wire Management

To help you create cleaner, more organized connection diagrams, we’ve introduced connection anchors (previously called organizer nodes). These special points in your Connections view allow you to route cables through specific paths, avoiding cluttered crossing lines.

Creating Organized Layouts

Simply add connection anchors at strategic points in your Connections canvas, then route your cables through them. This is especially helpful when you have multiple cables running between the same equipment areas - you can bundle them visually through common routing points, just like you would with cable management in a physical studio.

Visual Clarity

Connection anchors appear as small junction points on your canvas. They don’t represent physical equipment but serve as waypoints for your cable runs, making complex connection diagrams much easier to read and understand.
